Why is it important to introduce classical music to my toddler?

There are many benefits of introducing classical music to young children and babies, including increased focus, enhanced cognitive function and listening skills, and a greater ability to self-discipline. Just like learning a foreign language, music theory and classical music can be fully absorbed when children are immersed in all the musical terms, styles, and composers when they are very young.

Can we get a list of music that was played in class?

After every class, we list the pieces and composers used in our story, as well as any pieces performed by our featured instrument.

Help! I don't have some of the sensory objects used in class! What can I do?

During our classes, we will be using some sensory tools that help our students learn to feel different rhythms. You’ll see us using actual bells, shaky eggs, scarves, and rhythm sticks, however we encourage you to aid your children in an arts-and-crafts session and build your own! Music exists everywhere, and rhythm sticks can be as simple as two pencils or two sticks from outside! Get creative, and show us the instruments you’ve made!

Ideas for DIY Instruments:

Rhythm Sticks

• Pencils
• Chopsticks
• Sticks from outside
• Wooden spoons

Shaky Eggs
• Rice, small pasta, small pebbles in a small Tupperware, old vitamin bottle, water bottle, etc.

Scarves
• Any scrap of fabric
• Tissues
• Napkins

Bells
• Keychain
• Loose change in any old container listed above
• Beads or metal washers in a stainless steel container

Where did you get the children’s songs played in class?

Our children’s music and classic nursery rhymes are arranged by us, specifically for this class! Each one presents a different element of music theory, all the way from modulations in key, tempo alterations, and dynamic changes, to more advanced aspects such as syncopation, chromaticism, and even 16th century counterpoint. Reach out to us if you have any questions!

Can we hire you for our school/library program?

Yes! We are happily offering our 14-Class Subscription to schools and libraries globally at a reduced rate. Contact us here!

Do you take instrument donations?

Absolutely! We happily take instruments that are in good condition and working order.

I’m a musician, can I come play with you?
